Founded by Xolisa Mpafa and Abongile Ntsatha, the Thokoza Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work, connect with industry professionals, and receive recognition for their creativity. The festival recognizes the challenges faced by independent filmmakers and strives to create opportunities for them to gain exposure and distribution for their films.

Thokoza Film Festival has been appoint by Transnet Foundation to manage one of the Transnet Centre.
Thokoza Film Festival 2nd Annual will happen from the 26-30 March 2024 at Transnet Thokoza Community Centre.
